Caramel Apple Nachos

All the joy of a caramel apple with none of the jaw workout: thin apple slices shingled on a platter, drizzled with warm caramel and scattered with chopped peanuts, mini chocolate chips, and toffee bits. Built for a crowd, gone in minutes.

Steps

  1. Slice the apples 1/4 inch thick and toss with the lemon juice so they don't brown. Arrange overlapping on a large platter.
  2. Warm the caramel sauce until pourable, about 1 minute in the microwave or 5 in a small saucepan.
  3. Drizzle the warm caramel over the apples. Scatter the peanuts, chocolate chips, and toffee bits over the top.
  4. Finish with a pinch of flaky sea salt. Serve immediately — these wait for no one.
Tip: Slice the apples just before serving. A mix of tart and sweet apples keeps the platter interesting.
